Club day wrap-up: 2023 S2 R10 Eddison Park

After being away for the Eruption, it was great to get out to a club day with fantastic weather and even fantasticer company. It was crowd-favourite Eddison Park this time around, as we welcomed 27 players – a solid field considering Nationals (tranche 1) was taking place that very day!

Some special mentions:

  • Club Pres Adam Stewart taking out A grade with a very handy -7 (60 points above his rating)
  • Angelo Arcidiacono with a solid -5 in B grade (76 points above his rating) and for his absolute barnstorm up the ratings ladder
  • Nick Greeney with a show-stopping -3 to clean up C grade (a massive 107 points above his rating!!)
  • CTP winners Jake Armes (A grade), Monir Farhadi (B grade) and Peter Bligh (C grade)
  • Jade Brady for taking out scratch with a tasty -12 (including a bogey), using a bag full of completely new discs 🙌
  • Kevin Santo for taking 2 OB pars 😩👌 on holes 3 and 18. I’d love to know what happened there!
  • Me for sending a 7m putt for eagle on hole 11 straight into the cage – never had a chance 🙄
  • Aaron Curtis for a bogey-free -5, though something tells me he didn’t enjoy the 9 consecutive pars on the back 9

Full results here.

Join us for our next club day at John Knight Park, where you would be wise to give every hole an ace run 😉. Register here.

Nationals

A big shout-out to all who competed in tranche 1 of Nationals last weekend. Many Canberrans finished very respectably!

  • Carol Hartley took out 4th in the very tightly contested FA40.
  • Nick Hall, Joshua Conroy and Roland Kaschula all competed in MA50, finishing 3rd, 4th and 7th respectively.
  • Tom Rugg made the trip to compete in MA2, finishing 9th after a tough round 1 and two very solid rounds thereafter.

On Friday we head into tranche 2, which features the higher divisions. Keep an eye on the scores via this page, or better yet, check out the MPO and FPO action LIVE on PRKD Media’s YouTube channel.

We’ve got some locals taking part:

  • In MPO, Austin D’Alessandro and Jade Brady will be in the mix, as always.
  • In sandbagger central MA1, Ryan Goad is looking to build on the solid form he’s shown locally.
  • FA1 is sure to be a hotly contested division, with a very tight spread of ratings amongst the 8 competitors. Our own Sam Ockerby is in with a great chance.
  • Nick Hall and Joshua Conroy are backing up last weekend’s solid appearances in MA50 to compete this weekend in MA40, and Ian Warren will be joining them. ACT 1-2-3 perhaps?? 🥇🥈🥉

Good luck to all competing! 🦉
